This policy explains how OceanDB Pro (https://www.oceandbpro.com) collects, uses, and stores personal information. OceanDB Pro is operated by the VigilesHQ team.

Who we are

OceanDB Pro is published by the VigilesHQ team, which also operates Vigiles (https://vigileshq.com). VigilesHQ is registered in Singapore.

OceanDB Pro is an independent OceanBase technical site. It is not the official OceanBase website and is not affiliated with OceanBase or other database vendors.

What we collect

Consultation form

When you submit the form at /consult/, we collect your name, work email, optional company, consultation topic, and message. Cloudflare Turnstile helps block automated submissions.

The newsletter signup collects email only. We do not require a name for the newsletter.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (G-5VC6XFFLCS) to understand aggregate traffic and page use. Google may process device and usage data according to its own policies.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for passwords, database credentials, production connection strings, or customer data exports through the public site forms.

How we use your information

Consultation requests: to respond about OceanBase consulting through the VigilesHQ team.
Newsletter: to send guides and runbook updates you opted into.
Analytics: to measure site use and improve content.
Security: to detect abuse, rate-limit API endpoints, and protect forms.

We do not sell your personal information.

Processors and hosting

We use the following service providers:

Resend — delivers consultation emails and stores newsletter contacts.
Cloudflare Turnstile — spam protection on the consultation form.
Vercel — hosts the website and serverless API routes.
Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement.

These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and privacy policies. Data may be stored or processed outside your country.

Retention

Consultation correspondence is retained according to the VigilesHQ team's mailbox and business record practices. Newsletter contacts remain until you unsubscribe. Server logs and analytics data are retained for limited periods defined by our hosts and analytics settings.

Your choices

Newsletter: unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email.
Consultation data: request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us (see Contact below).
Analytics: you can use browser settings or extensions to limit tracking; our site does not require analytics cookies for core reading features.

Children

OceanDB Pro is aimed at professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

We may update this policy. The date below shows when it last changed. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
